Mr. Glen Noel Stone, age 76, of Burlington, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after several months of failing health. Born in Franklin County, VA, he was the son of the late Runie Lee Stone and the late Lottie Mae Stone Stone and was married for over 54 years to Mrs. Suzzy Sparhawk Stone, who survives. Glen was a transfer truck mechanic and worked for several trucking companies, including Associated Transport and Gindy Manufacturing. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Stone is survived by his wife of the home; a son, Jimmy Allen Stone of Mebane; a granddaughter, Heather Brooke Stone; three sisters, Elizabeth Fred Blackwell, Helen Squitiere and Evelyn Trotter, all of Virginia; two brothers, Marvin Lee Stone and Billy Joe Joan Stone, both of Virginia; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends, Randy and Pam Kivett and Faye Brown, all of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, George Cecil Stone. The funeral service will be conducted at 5:00 PM Friday, February 6, 2015 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Reid Dickens. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home and other times at the residence. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday at the Bowles-Shelton Family Cemetery in Henry, VA.
