Gladys Smith

Gladys Chriscoe Smith, 85, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. Ms. Smith was born July 26, 1923 in Moore County, NC to the late Henry Harrison Chriscoe and Maude Chriscoe. Mrs. Smith was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Burlington. Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Janice Davila Fernando and Judy Smith both of Burlington; a son, Dennis Smith of Burlington; five grandchildren, Michael Guthrie, Brett Guthrie, Jonathan Guthrie, Alicia Vernon Hensley, and Rhett Vernon; six great grandchildren, Caroline Guthrie, Austin Guthrie, Christopher Hensley, Jessica Hensley, Carissa Vernon, Elizabeth Vernon; a brother, Henry Chriscoe; and two sisters, Ruby Lee Lassiter and Ruth Dishman all of Burlington. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Alton Chriscoe, Elvin Chriscoe, Cecil Chriscoe, and Blanch Euliss. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2009 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Terry Peele officiating. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
