Gladys Wilson Peters, age 86, formerly of Rogers Street, died on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Russell County, Virginia and the wife of the late Vincen Peters, Sr. Gladys worked at the Glen L. Martin Aircraft Plant helping to assemble planes for the war effort during WW II and she later retired as a Nurses Aid. Gladys was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and a loving wife and mother. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Vincen Peters, Jr. and his wife, Teresa of Burlington; five grandchildren and one great grandchild; sisters, Vida W. Bragg and Rose Jenkins both of Burlington, Kitty Absher of Pleasant Garden; brother, Perry Q. Wilson of Cedar Bluff, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Iris Marie Beale; parents, Albert Johnson and Toy Horton Wilson; sisters, Virginia W. Pritchard and Vivian W. Santini. A cryptside service will be held on Monday, January 7, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum by Chaplain Wayne Rouse. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
