Gladys Montgomery

Burlington-Gladys "Sue" Lemonds Montgomery, 91, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 1, 2017 at the Hospice Home. She was born in Randolph County to the late William Dossie and Artimisha McNeill Lemonds. She was the wife of the late Robert "Bob" Montgomery. Together they lived in Whitsett for over 50 years.
Sue retired from Skilled Nursing at the former Alamance Memorial Hospital. She attended First Baptist Church of Whitsett and was active for many years with the Gibsonville Senior Citizens. Sue was a loving and devoted Christian wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Survivors include her sons, Steve Montgomery and wife, Kathy of Charlotte; and Mark Montgomery of Graham; ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Bennie Peace Montgomery; and many nieces and newphews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Dr. Ronald L. Montgomery, Sr.; parents, William Dossie and Artimisha McNeill Lemonds; and elven brothers and sisters.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 11:00 am at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Eric G. Rudd. There will be a private graveside service at Alamance Memoria Park. The family will receive friends from 9:45-10:45 am on Wednesday prior to the service.
