Mrs. Gladys Jessup Clark, age 86, of 534 Isley Road, passed away Monday, January 24, 2011 at her home. A native of Surry County, she was the daughter of the late Erastus and Ella Gammons Jessup and wife of Henry A. Clark who survives. She was a member of Hocutt Memorial Baptist Church and co-owner with her husband of Clark's Upholstery. Gladys loved the beach and her flower garden. During WWII she was employed by the Fairchild Plant, building airplanes for the war effort. Survivors include her husband, Henry A. Clark of the home; son, Larry Dean Clark and wife Jill of Graham; grandchildren, Cory and Amanda Clark and Lauren C. King and husband David; great grandchildren, Jacob and Jordan Clark and Dylan King, step grandchildren, Ryan and Matthew Russell; step great grandchildren, Brendan Peplinski, Gray, Asa and Jade Russell; brother, Monroe Jessup and wife Virginia of Mustang, OK; sisters, Versie Bray and husband Clester and Betty Nunes and husband James all of Siler City. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, January 27, 2011 in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Jimmy Nickelston. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Mrs. Clark will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory through the funeral service. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 12-1:45pm prior to the service and at other times at the residence.
