Gertrude Way

Gertrude Bryant Way, age 94, formerly of Chapel Hill Rd., passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Alamance Health Care. A native of Chatham County, she was the wife of Ernest Earl Way and the daughter of Ida Brown and Joe Bryant, all deceased. She was a member of Andrews Memorial Baptist Church and a former choir member. Survivors include her children; Jake Way and wife Kay, Donnie Way and wife Georgia all of Burlington and Sue W. Hamilton and husband Bill of Troy; grandchildren, Megan Lemonds, Steven Way, Sherri Pass, Tammy Baldwin, Pam Church and Crystal Way-Payne. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and son, Ernest Joe Way. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, January 22, 2015 in Pine Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Way will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until being taken to the cemetery for services. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 12:40-1:45pm Thursday. At other times the family will be at the home of Jake and Kay Way; 813 Tucker St. Burlington.
