Gertrude Scott

Gertrude Terry Scott, 84 of Burlington passed away Monday September 7, 2009 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was born July 27, 1925 in Person County to the late William Ralph Terry and Roxie B. Thaxton. Gertrude was married to the late Earl Rogers Scott, Sr. She retired from Alamance County Hospital as an L.P.N. and a Respiratory Therapist. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include a daughter Rebecca Scott Collins of Burlington; a son, Earl R. Scott, Jr. and his wife, Suzanne of Burlington; three grandchildren, Benjamin Cook, Jennifer Aldridge, and Samantha Scott Bolick; four great grandchildren, Courtney Parsons, Hailey Parsons, Chloe Aldridge, and Austin Cook; two sisters, Polly Barlow of Wilmington, NC and Jessie Pearson of Tarboro, NC. Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister, Mary Jones; and two brothers, Albert Terry and Elvis Terry. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 10, 2009 at Pine Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Darrell Kroeze. The family will receive friends at the family home 407 Trail Four in Burlington. Memorials can be made to the First Church of the Nazarene 1410 Elder Way, Burlington, NC 27215
