Gerald Mastrianni

Gerald Mastrianni, 78, of Gibsonville, NC passed away August 28, 2020. He was born September 20, 1941 in Jamaica, NY to the late Frank and Antoinette (Marino) Mastrianni. He was the husband of Marie (Daddio) Mastrianni to whom he was married for 59 years.

Gerald retired as police officer with the Nassau County, New York Police Department.  During his 20-year tour of duty he received 2 Commendation Medals and numerous Meritorious Service Medals.  Gerald was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, Third Degree.

A devout husband, loving father, nurturing grandfather and great-grandfather; a warm loving and caring person, a voice of reason with strong ethics and morals.  He was proud of his Italian heritage, loved to cook, travel, prepare and cook family dinners and challenging his grandchildren in debate.  He was an avid Yankees fan, win or lose.

Gerald is survived by his wife Marie (Daddio) Mastrianni, their three daughters: DonnaMarie Gonos and husband George, LindaAnn Thrasher and Nicole Therese Aldridge and husband Duffy; 9 grandchildren: Michael Gonos, Geralyn Robinson, Christopher Gonos, Nikolas Gonos, Cristen Clark, Kimberly Thrasher, Heather Aldridge, Liam Aldridge and Kieran Aldridge; 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his brother Frankie Mastrianni, sister Maria Palleschi and great-grandson Jaden Gonos.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday September 19, 2020 at 1:30 PM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Celebrant Fr. Paul Lininger, O.F.M. Conv.  Burial will be at Alamance Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association.
