Georgie Cox

Graham-Georgie Dee Bowden Cox, 81 went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 22, 2017. She was a native of Vance county and the wife of the late Louis Earl Cox.
Georgie Dee was a homemaker and longtime residence of Graham. She enjoyed working in her yard and spending time working cross word puzzles. Georgie was a surrogate mother to her niece, Rose. She is survived by her nieces, Rose Byrd and husband, Bill of Smithfield and Yvonne Vick of Henderson; great nephew, Michael Jackson and wife, Christina of Henderson; great niece, Kimberly Mustian and husband, Steve of Henderson and great nieces, Chloe Carroll and Abby Mustian. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Lee Roy Bowden, Sr. and Lettie Luffy Bowen Bowden; brother, Leroy Bowden, Jr. and sisters, Elizabeth Jackson, Helen Clopton and Rosa Inez Bowden and a nephew, Freddie Jackson.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Chaplain Eric G. Rudd. The burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:15-12:45 pm on Wednesday prior to the service.
