George William Strout, T/SGT. Ret., age 73, of 308 Mill St., passed away Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. A native of Newport, ME, he was the son of the late Kenneth Augustus and Elsie Mae Gould Strout and the husband of Lynda Pegg Strout, who survives. George was a member of Harvest Hills Church, where he drove a church bus for several years, was employed by Cone Mills and retired from the Air Force after 23 years. Survivors include his wife, Lynda Pegg Strout of the home; sons, Kenneth Robert Strout and wife, Stacy, and William Everette Strout and wife, Jan, all of Burlington; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; brothers, Arthur Strout and Edward Strout; and sisters, Mary Parlin and Elizabeth Avery. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Angela Yvette Strout; and a brother, Richard Strout. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Harvest Hills Church by Dr. Russell Morris, pastor. Interment will follow in the Little Arlington Section of Pine Hill Cemetery. Mr. Strout will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until taken to the church, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 1:45 PM Tuesday prior to the service.
