George McCain

Mr. George Edward McCain, age 65, of Mebane passed away on Friday, July 11, 2014 at UNC Hospital after several months of failing health. Born in Caswell County on April 7, 1949, he was the son of the late Luther Issac McCain and the late Pauline Jones McCain and was married to Mrs. Deborah Gunn McCain, who survives. He was formerly employed with Culp Finishing and was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Mebane. George loved his family and spent the last years of his life sharing his love of the Bible. Mr. McCain is survived by his wife of the home; seven children, Shelia Wallace, Meviett Rogers, Jamie Donnell, Tiffany Calloway, George Reynolds all of Danville, VA and Jessica McCain and Joey McCain of the home; three step children, Christy Clay of the home, Shauna Suggs of Durham and Sherrie Johnson of Maryland; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; five sisters, Mary Rogers, Betty Harris and Pearline Obie, all of Burlington and Darlene Totten and Patricia Fulmore, both of Yanceyville; and two brothers, James McCain and William McCain, both of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Annie Johnson; and a brother, Issac MacArthur McCain. There will be a memorial service conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Mebane. The family will receive friends following the service.
