George King

George Ervin King, 74, of 2629 Churchhill Dr. Went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 22, 2007 at his residence surrounded by his family. Mr. King was born December 11, 1932 in Alamance County to the late Edgar Lee and Eva Page King. Mr. King retired as general manager from Rental Towel and Uniform Service. He was a member of Lakeview Community Church where he served as a deacon and member of Constitution and Bylaws Committee for 2 years. He was a member of the Burlington City School Board for 23 years, and was a little league baseball coach for many years. He also was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include his wife Florence Parks King of the home; two sons, Terry Lee King and his wife Shelia of Charlotte, NC and Randall Jay King and his wife Dee of Mebane; a granddaughter, Emily Paige King; two grandsons, Jay Robert King and Russell Jay King; a sister, Jean Garrison and her husband Vernon of Burlington; a brother, Billy King and his wife Mary of Melbourne, Fla; two aunts, Bertha Phillips and Evelyn Smith; an uncle, Elbridge Boswell; Niece, Susan Oakley and several other nieces and nephews; and one great nephew. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at Lakeview Community Church by the Rev. Reid Dickens. Entombment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the residence. A special thanks to care givers Ilir and Teresa and also to Hospice workers, Marie, Mary, Bonnie and Lynsey.
