George Elliott Grizzle

George retired from Burlington Industries, Pioneer Plant. He attended Grace Baptist Church. He was a beekeeper for years, enjoyed watching wrestling on TV and playing Skip-bo with his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

George is survived by his wife of the home; Linda Cross Grizzle; daughter, Tammy (“Bucky” William) Childress of Liberty; step daughters, Faye (Tim) Pergason of Burlington, Jeanette (Ricky) Walker of Haw River and Cathy (Butch) Hancock of Caswell County; 2 grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Baugh of Burlington, Eva Griffith of Virginia, Diana Lynn Laster of Burlington, Linda Jo Maxfield of Virginia and Joyce Ann (George) Monk of Lebanon, Virginia; brothers, David Grizzle of Burlington and Terry (Judy) Grizzle of Tazwell, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mary Catherine Grizzle and brothers, Dallas Grizzle, Ollie Grizzle and Cline Ray Grizzle.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Grace Baptist Church by Rev. John Crews.  The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the church.
