George Charles Gallus
Graham-George Charles Gallus, 92 went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 7, 2016 at the Hospice Home surrounded by his family. He was a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the husband of Annie Carson Murdock Gallus who survives.
George was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a US Navy veteran serving during WW II in the Pacific theatre. He served on the USS Overton and the USS Kennedy during his tour of duty.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Carson Murdock Gallus of the home; son, George J. Gallus of Philadelphia, PA; daughter, Judith A. Gallus of Paris, France; step sons, John Roger Murdock of Greensboro and Tony Bruce Murdock and wife, Sharon of Burlington and a step daughter, Patricia Ann Flynn of Elon; seven grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, George Frank Gallus and Elizabeth Walther Gallus; brother, Leroy Gallus and sister-in-law, Marie Gallus.
A Service to celebrate his life will be held on November 10, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. David Jackson and Ralph Butler and the burial will follow with US Navy honors at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:45-1:45 pm prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home and other times at the home.
