George Fitch

Burlington - George Melvin Fitch, 58, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 at Wesley Long Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born in Wicomico, Maryland on November 7, 1959 to the late Harry Franklin Fitch, Sr. and Edna Virginia Shipley Fitch.

George was a former carpenter. He was a Duke and Redskins fan and enjoyed NASCAR racing.

He is survived by his children, Leigh Ann Tickles, Jeremy Scot Fitch, Georgie Noelle Fitch and Sophia Danielle Robin Fitch; his girlfriend, Amanda Jane Smith; grandchildren, Brock Adam Tickles and Miya Ann Ward; sisters, Laura Lorraine Cosman, Brenda Joyce Fitch and Debbie "Chicken" McCleary; brothers, Harry Franklin Fitch, Jr. and wife, Nancy, Larry Edward Fitch and wife, Amy and Charles Fitch.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mildred Marie Curtis and brothers, Gilbert Roland Curtis and David "Eggman" Baker.

The funeral service will be held 4:00 PM Friday, March 23, 2018 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Boyd Pickard. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:45 PM on Friday at the funeral home prior to the service and other times at Julie Fitch's home in Graham.
