Geneva Jones

Gibsonville – Geneva Whack Jones, 93, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  A native of Florence, SC, she was born April 24, 1928 to the late Frank and Sadie Cooper Whack and was the wife of the late Clyde Jones.

Geneva retired from Cone Mills as a machine operator and winder.  She was the mother of St. John AME Church in Gibsonville, where she was very involved.  She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family.

Geneva’s Gang includes her special friend; Clifton Summers, children; Mary Sellars, Virginia Lawson (Ralph), Lessie Thompson (Bruce), Vera Harrison (Charles), Connie Moore, Clayton Moore (Lynn), Sherry Moore and Charlotte Wilkerson (Larry), a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, a sister; Sadie Allen and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband; Clyde Jones, son; Willie Lee Moore, daughter; Betty Jane Moore, infant son; Timothy Moore, her parents; Frank and Sadie Cooper Whack and a brother; R.J. Whack.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 4:00PM on Thursday, July 22, 2021 in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Byron Grayson.  The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 2:45 – 3:45 prior to the service and other times at the home.
