Geneva Harper

Mrs. Geneva Ellen King Harper, 66, of 819 Tillman St., died Monday, March 3, 2008 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after several years of declining health. A native of Guilford County, she was raised in the Junior Order Home in Lexington. She was married to Richard Keith Harper, who survives, for over 33 years. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, building birdhouses, and loving her grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Harper is survived by her husband of the home; a daughter, Debbie Rivers and her husband, Scott, of Gibsonville; a son, Brian Harper and his wife, Leigh Ann, of Graham; six grandchildren, Brittany and Spencer Harper, Madison and Nate Rivers, and Hannah and Jessica Carter; and a special young gentleman whom she loved like a son, Ric Bruton, of Burlington. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred King, Della Shaffer and Teeny Harrison. A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 PM Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bud Wrenn.
