Geneva Lowe Clapp, age 86, went to be with her Lord, family and friends on March 7, 2011 after 8 years of failing health. She was born in Guilford County to the late Jason Roscoe and Maude Brown Lowe on June 11, 1924. She graduated from Monticello High School and was an active lifetime member of Apple's Chapel Christian Church and a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She was a homemaker all her life. She loved keeping her house spotless, working in her yard, growing African Violets, cooking, and in particular her famous chocolate pie, and being the best Nanny to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her family and up to the last months, a day didn't go by that she didn't call one of their names. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. Geneva is survived by her husband of 65 years, Kestle Clapp of the home; a loving and dedicated mother to her son, Gary Clapp and wife Mary of Gibsonville and daughter, Angie Walker and husband Ken of Elon; She was the best Nanny to her four grandchildren, Jennifer Baker, Jessica Seawell, Jordan Walker and Katie Walker; two great grandchildren, Haley and Shelby Baker; sisters, Dorothy Hardy, Leo Wood, Audrey Barham and Becky Barber. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lorine Grogan and Jo Ann Kernodle and brother, Hobart Lowe. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Thursday March 10, 2011 at Apple's Chapel Christian Church by Rev. C. Allen Myers, III. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Clapp will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until being taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8pm Wednesday and at the home at other times. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Apple's Chapel Christian Church; 7345 North NC 61, Gibsonville, NC 27249.
