Gene Self

Gene Paul Self, 73, of 223 Wildwood Lane passed away Friday, September 16, 2011 after several years of failing health. He was the husband of Helen Shockley Self and was born June 12, 1938 in Newton Conover, NC to the late Charlie and Bessie Myers Self. He served in the US Naval reserve for eight years. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife of the home, a daughter Lorrie Stanley, a son Scott Self both of Burlington, grandchildren; Austin Stanley, Reanna Stanley, sisters; Kathy Doug Moore of Flower Mound, TX and Hazel Randazzo of N. Miami Beach, FL.. In keeping with Gene Paul's wishes there be no funeral service. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Monday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. and at other times at the home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
