Gay Lickliter

Mrs. Gay Aileen Lickliter, age 78, was born in Knoxville on March 23, 1938 and found peace on Monday, October 3, 2016 after a bout with cancer.
Gay was a former resident of Cleveland, TN and was employed by Buddy and Bobbie Cope at Cope's Cafeteria and Restaurant on King Edward Ave.
Left behind to cherish the memories of Gay Lickliter are her children, Terry (Bobby) Davis of Cleveland, TN, Darlene (Dan) McDowell of Haw River, NC and Thomas "Tommy" Williams of Chattanoga, TN; twelve grandchildren, Nathan (Beth) Davis, Joshua (Vanessa) Davis, Mary (Robbie) Millsaps, Jackie (Mary) Evans, Brandon McDowell, Jason (Teresa) McDowell, Mariah McDowell, Jackie (Justin) Lawson, Cassie Williams, Allstun Williams, Ashley Williams and Amanda Gurley; thirteen great grandchildren, Emily and Sarah Davis, Jeffery and Brandon Millsaps, Kylie Evans, Lea McDowell, Tyler Bowman, Dayton Shaw, Kaity Lawson, Bryson James, Adam, Brandon and Zachary Gurley; a brother, George (Adona) Lickliter of Buena Vista, GA; a sister, Sylvia Trevorrow of Buena Vista, GA; very good friend, Goldie Murphy of Burlington; several nieces, nephews and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Mary Lickliter; her daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca "Becky" and Tommy Evans; two brothers, Jay and Clyde Lickliter; and two sisters, Celia Cooper and Velvia Ferguson.
The family will be conducting a memorial service at 3:00 PM Friday, October 7, 2016 at the home of her daughter, Darlene, located at 2132 Gifford Dr., Haw River, NC.
