Gary Wright

Gary Alan Wright 62, of 820 Kimberly Rd. passed away Friday at Wesley Long Hospital after a courageous five month battle with cancer. He was the husband of Laura Stowe Wright and was born August 30, 1947 in Buchanan County, VA to Chester and Ardelia Hodges Wright. Gary's family and work were very important to him and his greatest times were spent coaching and watching his sons play sports. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son and brother who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a member of the Alamance Business Men's Club and retired from Universal Products formerly Shoffner Industries in 2001. Survivors include his wife of the home, his parents of Sevierville, TN, sons; Matthew Wright and his wife Danielle of Winston-Salem, NC, Adam Wright of Minneapolis, MN, a granddaughter Madalyn Grace Wright, a sister Cathy Taylor and her husband Larry of Wendell, NC, brothers; Larry Wright and his wife Diane of Ocean Isle Beach, NC and Morris Wright and his wife Mary of Sevierville, TN. A celebration of his life will be held 2:00 PM Sunday at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Denny Wall. The family will receive friends following the service and at other times at the home.
