Gary Gibson

Gary Lee Gibson, 69, formerly of Burlington passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at his home. He was born January 3, 1946 in Newport News, VA to the late Morris and Francis Williams Gibson. He was married to the late Ida James Gibson who passed away in 2008. After Gary retired from GKN he and his wife spent much of their time at the beach and Gary moved there following Ida's death. He truly enjoyed his retired life at his home fishing and spending time with his flowers. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all of his family, friends, and pier buddies. Survivors include his daughters, Sherri Steve McKinney of King, Teresa Shannon Terrell of Burlington; a son Kerry Brenda Gibson of Jacksonville, NC; grandchildren, Mallory Jon Smith, Garrett Terrell, Grecia Terrell, Zoe Gibson, Kenna Gibson; brothers, Roger Shirley Gibson of Eden, Sonny Carolyn Gibson of Danville, VA and Eddie Danice Gibson of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; sisters, Margaret Carter, Judy Griffin and a brother Hunter Gibson. The funeral will be held11:00 AM Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Darrel J. Kroeze. Interment will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Monday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. and at other times at the home of his daughter Teresa Terrell.
