Gaile Howard

Gaile Lucille Kirkland Howard, 74, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at her home after 3 months of failing health. She was born in Spartanburg, SC to the late William "W.N." and Floroy Haynes Kirkland and was the wife to Fred Allen Howard of 54 years, who survives. Gaile was a homemaker, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed and loved to cook for her family and she was an avid reader. Survivors other than her husband, Fred include her daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Jeff Willis; son, Donald Fred Howard; her grandchildren that she adored, Chanler Willis and Nathan Willis; sisters and brother-in-law, Wilhelmina and Jeff Miller and Lynda Horton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harvey Kirkland, Gary and Joyce Ann Kirkland, Don and Pam Kirkland. She was preceded in death by her son, Fred Allen Howard, Jr., brother, Lloyd Allen Kirkland and her parents. The graveside service will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Hawfields Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will be at the home and at the daughters home, Angela and Jeff Willis. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
