Gail Dorfman Godreau, age 60, died in her home at Twin Lakes Retirement Community in Burlington, NC on Friday afternoon, August 8, 2008. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Edmond "Bud" Godreau, a niece Amy Zrinchak of CT, a nephew Stacy Mathewson of Los Angeles, four step children Adrien Seaton, Chris Godreau, Karen Holmes, Jessica Miles and 9 step grandchildren. She was predeceased by her father Jacob Dorfman, mother Shirley Dorfman and a sister Roberta Mathewson. Gail graduated with a masters in education from State University of New York, Albany in 1970. She taught Spanish in several Connecticut schools and worked for 15 years in a convalescent home as a therapeutic recreational director. After moving to North Carolina in 1999 she worked as a tutor. She enjoyed poetry, gardening, jazz, blues, Cajun and folk music. She played the guitar. There will be a celebration of her life 2:00 PM Saturday, August 16, 2008 at the Foley Chapel located 3801 Wade Coble Drive, Burlington in the Twin Lakes Community.
