Gail Booker

Elon Gail Worsham Booker, 80, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 05, 2013 at the Hospice Home. A native of Pittsylvania County, VA, she was the daughter of the late George Robert and Mattie Park Worsham and was the wife of the late Harold Page Booker. Gail attended Piedmont Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir. She retired from JCPenny after 37 years of service. She enjoyed cooking, baking and attending her grandchildren's sporting events. Survivors include her daughters, Nancy and husband, Mike Wilkie of Burlington and Pam and husband, Marc Montgomery of Burlington; a son, Greg and wife, Kristi Booker of Elon; grandchildren, Nita Tomb David, Amber Gerlach Carter, Sarah Davis Shawn, Zach Booker, Braylee Moore Will, Mallory Booker and Avery Booker; great grandchildren, Mandi Tomb, Alex Tomb, Camden Gerlach, Caleb Gerlach, Phoebe Davis and brothers, Randolph Worsham and Waldo Worsham and wife, Betty Jean. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Page Booker; son, Harold Keith Booker, parents, five brothers and three sisters. The funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Mike Jones with the entombment to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday at Lowe Funeral Home and other times at the son's home in Elon. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff at Springview Assisted Living and to the nurses at Hospice Home for their compassion and loving care.
