Frederick Ebert

Elon Frederick Raymond Ebert, 77 of Elon, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the Hospice Home. He was born in Newark, New Jersey and was the son of the late Gordon Proctor Arthur and Lillian Decker Arthur. He was married for 45 years to Byrdette "BD" Ebert who survives. Fred worked for Western Electric, AT&T and Lucent Technologies for over 40 years combined service and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He worked with the Girl Scouts of America for over 20 years serving as a counselor, consultant and a parent. Fred proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife of the home, daughter, Emily Ebert and Matt Pearce of Louisburg; sister-in-law, Mary Faith Arthur of Bethlehem, PA; niece, Jane Arthur and nephew, Raymond Arthur. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jack Arthur and a nephew, Gordon Arthur. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel by Hospice Chaplain Richard Gross with burial to follow. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
