Fred Norris

Maurice Fred Norris, age 77, of Coppergate Trail passed away Friday, November 14, 2014 at UNC Hospital. A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Charles Gattis and Eunice Montgomery Norris and husband of Patricia Ann Rudd Norris who survives. He was owner/operator of Norris Brothers for 40 years and a veteran of the US Air Force. Fred is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia Ann Rudd Norris of the home; sons, Keith Norris, Mike Norris and Chris Norris and wife Teresa all of Burlington and David Norris and wife Sandy of Eli Whitney; 7 grandchildren; brothers, Charles Gattis Norris, Jr., Jerry Norris and wife Rosa, Larry Norris and wife Linda, Carl Norris, Danny Norris and wife Cindy all of Burlington, Coy Norris and wife Renata of Wilmington and Tony Norris and wife Mary Jean of Elon; sisters, Emma "Tootsie" Overman, Jean and Craig Scott all of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Polly Surles and Patsy Mitchell, brothers, Kenneth, Earl and Wayne Norris. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday November 18, 2014 in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor David Mros, pastor of Hico Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Mr. Norris will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory through the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8pm Monday and at their home at other times.
