FRED D. INGLE Fred DeWitt Ingle, age 92, of 3077 Tucker St., Ext. passed away Saturday March 11, 2006 at his home following a brief illness. A native of Alamance County, he was son of the late Ernest C. and Belle Clendenin Ingle and for nearly 68 years was the husband of Ruth Lamar Ingle who survives. Mr. Ingle was a Charter member of Baptist Temple, where he had been active in all phases of the church including Deacon, Treasurer, and was the Greeter with the Usher Board until 3 weeks prior to his death. He served several years on the Burlington Planning Board. Mr. Ingle was a prominent farmer in the community his entire life. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Lamar Ingle of the home; daughter, Mrs. Linda Calhoun and husband Fred of Burlington; son, Ronnie Ingle of Burlington; grandchildren, Melinda C. Fargis of Burlington, David Chrisco and wife Christy of Chattanooga, TN, Kim Ingle and wife Angela of Burlington, Robin Ingle of Jacksonville, FL, Colan Ingle and wife Debra of Southmont and Kevin Colvard of Boone. 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Prince Ingle, Coy Ingle, and Clyde R. Ingle; 2 sisters, Lura Jones and Leta McPherson. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday March 13, 2006 at the Baptist Temple by Dr. Donald R. Carter, Rev. Donald Swinney and Mr. David Carter. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Mr. Ingle will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until being taken to the church where the family will receive friends from 5:30 8:30 PM Monday.
