Gibsonville - Fred Raymond Flynn, 85, of 306 Wood St. died on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at his residence. A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of Hazel Ward Flynn, who survives and son of the late Frank and Bertha Boone Flynn. He retired from Jake's Bar-B-Q, was a member of Gibsonville United Methodist Church and VFW Post 2972. Fred was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII serving in Patton's 3rd Army. He is survived by his wife of the home, daughters, Beverly Hinton Beaver and husband Gary of Concord, Linda Flynn Sykes and husband Joseph of Greensboro, Karen Flynn Daniels and husband Larry of Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Tamie Wells, Dr. Rodney Daniels, Joseph Sykes, Jr.; great grandchildren, Dillon Wells, Baxter Wells, Reilly Wells, Atticus Daniels, Courtney Sykes, Joseph Sykes III; sisters, Pearl Shepherd, Mary Lou Isley both of Gibsonville and brother, Jack Flynn of High Point. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Opal Pearson and brothers, Lee, Glenn, Billy, Odell and Richard Flynn. The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday evening at the funeral home and other times at the residence. Condolences may be sent to the family at info@lowefuneralhome.com.
