Burlington – Fred Younger Davis, 88, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Alamance Regional Medical Center (ARMC). He was born April 20, 1933 in Alamance County to the late Linnie Gold Davis and Lillian Ruth Younger Davis. Fred was married for over 64 years to Carol Jones Davis who passed on October 6, 2021.

Fred worked in the Purchasing Department at AT&T until his retirement in 1984. He enjoyed playing cards at the American Legion Post in Burlington and socializing with friends. He was a dedicated Nascar Fan of Dale Earnhardt Sr and Kyle Larson. He attended many Nascar races with his wife and enjoyed going to Daytona 500 each year to see his drivers compete in the Nascar races. After his retirement, the couple bought a motor home and drove cross country, spending a total of ten weeks sightseeing across the United States. Fred enjoyed spending time with Monica, Zayn and Bo having breakfast together each Saturday morning. He always had a smile on his face and enjoyed every opportunity life had to offer. He shared many stories of his life and always made others feel welcome and well loved. He helped Monica care for his beloved wife Carol for 5 months of Hospice care at home over the past months. He was a devoted Father, Grandfather and Husband and loved by all.

Survivors include a daughter, Monica Davis Nicola and grandson, Zayn Nicolas Nicola; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife Carol.

A graveside service will be held for both Carol and Fred Davis on Thursday October 14, 2021 at 3:00pm at Pine Hill Cemetery by Reverend Constance “Connie” Baldwin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Authoracare/Hospice of Alamance County.
