Frank Villanova

MEBANE- Mr. Frank John Villanova, age 88 of Mebane, died Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after several months of failing health. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Valente Villanueva and the late Helena Joannides Villanueva and was married to Mrs. Janet Blair Villanova, who survives. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from the Sandvik Corporation. He was a member of Hawfields Presbyterian Church and formerly served as a councilman in River Bend, NC. Mr. Villanova was survived by his wife of the home; three sons, Jon F. Villanova and his wife, Kathy, Alan Villanova and Chris Villanova, all of Mebane; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, June 10, 2011 at Hawfields Presbyterian Church by Rev. David Ealy. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Enurnment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hawfields Presbyterian Church, 2115 NC Hwy 119 S., Mebane, NC 27302 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
