Frank Phillippe

Gibsonville Frank Phillippe, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at the Hospice Home in Burlington. A native of Guilford County, he was the son of the late John Marshall and Flonnie Summers Phillippe and was the husband of 63 years to Lois Alcon Phillippe of the home. Frank was a longtime member of Friedens Lutheran Church. He volunteered for the Whitsett Fire Department and retired from Burlington Industries after 33 years of service. Frank enjoyed gardening and salt-water fishing but spent most of his spare time wood working in his shop. Survivors include his wife of the home; sister, Dewey Baldwin of Burlington; numerous nieces and nephews; special cousins, Faye Greeson and John Creasy and wife, Shirley. He was preceded in death by his parents, a twin brother, Fred Phillippe and a sister, Dixie Howerton. A service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00pm on Sunday, January 6, 2014 at Friedens Lutheran Church by Rev. Bill Zima. The family will receive friends following the service. A special thank you to the nurses at Hospice Home for their loving care during Franks illness. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friedens Lutheran Church, 6001 N Carolina 61, Gibsonville, NC 27249 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
