Mr. Frank Thomas Montgomery, age 81, of Burlington, died Thursday, October 20, 2011 at the Hospice Home after several months of failing health. Born in Chatham County, he was the son of the late Lee Weldon Montgomery and the late Annie Lee Murphy Montgomery and was married for over 62 years to Mrs. Lucille Miles Montgomery, who survives. Frank retired after many years service with Wil-Kin Company and was a former Burlington Police Forensic Officer. He was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying and was an avid ham radio operator WA4PEP. Mr. Montgomery is survived by his wife of the home; a daughter, Lucinda M. Vetter of Burlington; three sons, Thomas Montgomery and his fiance, Nancy Sartin, Christopher Montgomery and his fiance, Patty Moore, all of Elon and Michael Montgomery and his wife, Martha, of Gretna VA; ten grandchildren, Adam Montgomery, Richard Montgomery, Christina Montgomery, Crystal Church, Vanessa Montgomery, Michael Montgomery, Jennifer White, Sarah Vetter, Lauren Vetter and Emily Vetter; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Carl Lee Montgomery. A memorial graveside service will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Alamance Memorial Park by Chaplin Richard Gross. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 Wednesday afternoon prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
