Frances Sutton

Graham – Emma Frances Futrell Sutton, 89, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 8, 2020.  She was born on April17, 1931 in Wake County to the late Dewey Belton and Emma Letha Hardee Futrell, and was married to the late Melvin Monroe Sutton.

Frances retired from Hunt Electric. She was a longtime member of St. Marks Church and a member of the Christian Workers Sunday School Class. Frances enjoyed her flower garden, traveling and taking bus trips with her husband. She was an avid Duke fan! Frances was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her son, Mark Sutton and wife, Robin of Burlington and a daughter, Kaye Jones and husband, David of Burlington; grandchildren, Davey Jones, Adam Jones, Geoff (Whitney) Sutton and Tyler (Stuart) Sutton; eleven great grandchildren and a brother, Charles “Jeep” Futrell and wife, Betty of Graham. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; sisters, Doris Futrell Perry and Betty Futrell Way and a brother, Hugh Lee Futrell.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00am Monday, October 12, 2020 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ben Bishop with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park.  Frances will be available for viewing from 1-5pm on Sunday and until service time on Monday. The service will be live streamed to allow for your safety if you are unable to attend.
