Frances Smith

Frances Manning Smith, 74, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at UNC Hospital after a courageous battle with kidney failure and diabetes. She was born in Alamance County to the late Clyde Coppel and Mae Munns Manning and was married for 56 years to Gerald Smith who survives.
She is survived by her husband, daughter, Robin (Randy) Shively; son, Brad Smith; grandchildren, Robin Lynn James, Stephanie and Madison Shively; great grandson, Jackson James; and a sister, Sandra Manning Bell. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Mary Manning, Gladys Whitley, Geraldine Hackett, C.W. Manning and James Manning.
The funeral will be held 2:00 PM Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Jim Florence with interment to follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45 - 1:45 prior to the service at the funeral home.
