Frances Kellam

Mrs. Frances Jean Beckom Kellam, age 92, of Burlington, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Brookdale Senior Living after several years of declining health.

A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Tingen Beckom and the late Bertha Naomi Ross Beckom and was married for over 57 years to the late Gaither Marvin Kellam, Jr., who passed in 2011.  Frances was a career homemaker and was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.  She loved gardening and growing her own vegetables.

Mrs. Kellam is survived by her two children, Linda Cain and husband, Jim, and Steve Kellam and wife, Teresa; three grandchildren, Jaclyn (Ryan) Herman, Alison Kellam and Jason Kellam; three great grandchildren, Colton and Caroline Herman and Larkin Curtis; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sisters, Irene Andrews and Mary Ruth Durham; and three brothers, Ross, Curtis and Ben Beckom.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Alamance Memorial Park by Rev. Carolyn Burrus.  The family will receive friends from 9:30 – 10:30 AM Saturday morning prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Brookdale and Hospice for their loving and attentive care for Mrs. Kellam over the years.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith United Methodist Church, 1732 W.
