Frances Greeson

Julian Mrs. Frances Allred Greeson of 3720 Old Julian Rd., slipped quietly from death to eternal life on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Clapp's Nursing Center. A native of Guilford County, she was born on April 6, 1930. She was the wife of C. A. "Charlie" Greeson, who survives, and the daughter of the late Robert Hall and Hattie Smith Allred. She was a homemaker and a long-time member of Mt. Hope United Church of Christ where she was an active and faithful member until her health declined. Her focus was on serving others; she was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking for her family and others. She and husband Charlie enjoyed "making music", playing and singing hymns. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and caring friend. She had a smile for everyone and a contagious laugh, brightening the lives of those around her. She was a solid foundation for her family which included seven children. Survivors include her husband, C. A. "Charlie" Greeson of the home; son, Clifton Greeson and wife Barbara of Julian, son Gerald Greeson and wife Linda of Greensboro, daughter Dreama Greeson of Durham, daughter Gloria Stec of Greensboro, daughter Janet Welker and husbnd Jeff of Greensboro, son Kevin Greeson and wife Melissa of Greensboro, and son Kelly Greeson and partner, Robert Holton of Florida; 12 grandchildren; sister, Ruth Patterson and husband J.G. and two nieces. The funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday April 19, 2009 at Mt. Hope United Church of Christ with Rev. J. Lloyd Spencer, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Greeson will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until being taken to the church Saturday evening where the family will receive friends from 6-8 pm. At other times the family will be at the home at 3720 Old Julian Road. The family would like to thank the caregivers of Clapp's Nursing Center as well as Shirley Kime for their loving and compassionate care. The family is appreciative for all expressions of kindness. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of Mt. Hope United Church of Christ; 2400 Mt. Hope Church Rd., Whitsett, NC 27377.
