Frances "Frankie" Laws Couch

Frances “Frankie” Laws Couch, 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 2, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on August 12, 1939 in Tazewell County, VA to the late Robert James Laws, Sr. and Ella Mae White Laws and was married to the late Marcus Lee Couch.

 Frankie retired from Kayser Roth Hosiery after several years of service, then later worked for JR Tobacco for over eleven years. She was an active member of Brick Church where she was a member of the Women’s Circle, a former kindergarten Sunday school teacher and a care giver for people in the church and in her community.

 She is survived by her daughter, Angela Wilson and husband Michael; grandchildren, Christopher Lee and wife Michelle, Matthew Lee and significant other, Micah Fuller, Melissa Wilson and husband Allan Saunders, Jason Wilson, Matthew Wilson and wife Taylor; great grandchildren, Vivian Wilson, Cole Lee, Zachary Lee, and Waylynn Wilson; several nieces and nephews; and her friend and neighbor, Joyce Clemmer. Frankie was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a son, Gregory Scott Couch; sister, Mildred Davis; and a brother, Robert James Laws, Jr.

 The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Brick Church by Rev. Geoff LaLone with the burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45pm Tuesday prior to the service at the church and other times at the residence.
