Frances Benson

Burlington It is shouting time in heaven. Our Lord took our sweet mother, Frances Marie Benge Benson home to heaven on Monday, September 16, 2013. She was greeted by her mother, Lula Henderson Benge, her father, James Commodore Benge as well as her husband, Edward Benson; a son, Eddie Benson; grandson, Tim; great grandson, Trent; brother, Bill Benge; sister, Myrtle Sisk and her special friend Barbara Messer. Our mother was born June 29, 1922 in Gaffney, SC. She worked hard all her life and retired from Annedeen Hosiery Mill. She became a resident of Twin Lakes Coble Health Care six years ago after a stroke. She was a sweet, loving mother to everyone not only at Twin Lakes but to family and friends. We will certainly miss her but she leaves behind so many memories to treasure. She is survived by her daughters, Kay Benson Hedrick Colen of Gibsonville, Brenda Faye Ellis of Shelby, Kathy Thompson Todd of Graham; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held 10:00am Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the May Foley Chapel at Twin Lakes Community Center by Father Mark Menees. The family will receive friends starting at 9:30am prior to the service. The graveside service will be held in the afternoon at 3:00pm at Frederick Memorial Gardens in Gaffney, SC by Rev. Joel Phillips. Other times the family will be at two of the daughter's homes, Kathy Thompson, 907 Essex Drive, Graham, NC 27253 and Kay Hedrick, 7227 Abb Road, Gibsonville, NC 27249. The Benson family would like to thank the staff at Twin Lakes for all their care that was given to their mother. Memorials may be made to Twin Lakes Community Center, c/o Resident Assistance Program, 3701 Wade Coble Drive, Burlington, NC 27215.
