Foley Childress

Gibsonville - Foley Edgar Childress, 93 of Endwell Rd. went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Cone Hospital after several months of declining health. He was born in Surry County and was the son of the late Ed and Piney Childress and was married to the late Maggie Cole Childress. Foley was a tobacco farmer, an avid hunter and a member of Osceola Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughters, Polly Wesley Case of Summerfield, Sara Isley of Gibsonville; sons, Mitcheal Carolyn Childress of Gibsonville, Fred Childress and Ray Childress, both of SC; 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one brother and 4 sisters. The funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at Osceola Baptist Church by Rev. Randall Shaw with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home and other times at his residence.
