Floyd Turner, Jr.

Floyd Lee "Sonny" Turner, Jr. went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 9, 2018 at his home. He was born August 15, 1937 in Burlington to Floyd Lee Turner, Sr. and Nannie Edith Turner and was married to Judy Neal Turner for 38 years.
Sonny graduated from Williams High School class of 1955 and attended Elon College. He was employed by AT&T where he was in marketing & sales and was The National Sales Manager before retiring after 32 years of service. He then worked for AMI Video Post as General Marketing Manager for 10 years before opening his own business, Turner Vision, Inc. which he operated until retiring in 2009. He loved the Lord and his church and was a member of Harvest Hills Church of God where he served as the Sunday School Superintendent for 50 years. He also served as District Youth Director, Elder, Trustee and was inducted into the Church of God Layman's International Christian Hall of Excellence which is the highest honor a layman can receive in the Church of God. Sonny enjoyed watching the North Carolina Tar Heels, meeting with his high school friends at Harbor Inn, Myrtle Beach, Hamburger Joe's and playing golf where he had a hole-in-one at Indian Valley in 2015.
Sonny always had a smile on his face and loved being with his family and friends. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He especially enjoyed going to his church and being with his church family.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Neal Turner; two sons: Jeff Turner and wife Jerri, Greg Turner and wife Cheryl; daughter, Tracy Bellamy and husband Adam; grandchildren, Lauren Holt (Sam), Christian Turner (Kayla), Brandon Bellamy, Anna Turner; great grandson, Greyson Lee Turner and one god granddaughter, Mariah Helm; numerous cousins, special friends and a K-9 companion "Carmen".
The service to celebrate his life will be 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Harvest Hills Church of God by Dr. Russell Morris. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 12:30 - 1:45 prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.
