Floyd May

Floyd Ervin May, age 79, of 7102 Busick Quarry Rd. Elon, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012 at his home. A native of Guilford County, he was the son of the late John Henry and Onnie Murray May. Ervin retired from Glen Raven Mills after 45 years of service and was a member of Apple's Chapel Christian Church. His favorite things in life were his great nieces, his friends at Hackett's Store and Murray Brother's Store, Carolina Beach on holidays and listening to and traveling with Called Out. Survivors include his brother, Carl A. May and wife Margie of Gibsonville; nephew, Daniel May, niece, Cindy Booe and great nieces, Samantha May, Hailee May and Angela Smith. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday, July 6, 2012 at Apple's Chapel Christian Church by Rev. C. Allen Myers, III, Rev. Don Ledbetter and Rev. Joel Gilchrist. Interment will follow in Apple's Chapel cemetery. Mr. May will remain at Lowe Funeral Home until being taken to the church Thursday evening where the family will receive friends from 6-8pm. At other times the family will be at the home of his nephew, Daniel May; 7080 Busick Quarry Rd., Elon.
