Retired MSGT Floyd Lee "Buddy" King, Sr., 84, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at his home.
A native of Rockingham County, he was the son of the late William Monroe and Ada Lou Duggins King and husband of Christine Marie Clark King who survives.
He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps serving in Korea and Vietnam and retired as a MSgt. He was a member of Kerr's Chapel Baptist Church where he served as a director, a teacher and a deacon. He was a member of Southern Caswell Ruritan Club for 36 years and he served meals for Meals on Wheels in Caswell County for several years. He was retired from General Electric.
Buddy is survived by his wife of 63 years, Christine Marie Clark King of the home; sons, Floyd "Buddy" Lee King, Jr. and wife, Barbara, Daniel "Danny" Edward King and wife Carrie all of Elon, Kenneth "Kenny" Brian King and wife Tricia of Gibsonville and Kevin Brent King and wife Paula of Ossipee; 6 grandchildren, Will King and wife Sarah, Melissa Lee and husband Josh, Taylor King, Sarah Moore, Austin King and Burke King; great grandchildren, Makayla Lee and Kensie Lee; sisters, Thelma Oakes, Dot Ashby and Linda Tucker. He was preceded in death by 8 brothers and 1 sister.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Kerr's Chapel Baptist Church by Rev. Norman Harris, pastor. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. King will remain at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory until being taken to the church for services. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 6-8 pm Friday.
