Floyd Kelly Black, 89, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 after a brief illness. He was born in Guilford County to the late Fred Lee Black, Sr. and Stella Elizabeth Bowers Black and was married to the late Louise Grubb Black.
He was a very active and faithful member of Temple Baptist Church. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who truly enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Jean Todd (Billy); son, Pastor James Black (Anita); grandchildren, Jennifer Black Hall (John), Stephanie Black Williams; great grandchildren, Caitlyn and Savannah Hall, Hailey and Jayden Williams; and special friend, Irene Saul. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, grandson-in-law, Ryan Williams, sister, Clara Watkins, and brothers, Fred Jr., Robert and Wesley Black.
A service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by his son, Pastor James Black with burial to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
