Flossie Vines

Flossie Brown Vines passed away Monday, January 17, 2011 at her daughter's home. She was born October 18, 1933 in Ashland, WV to the late James Walter and Della Farmer Brown. Flossie was a active member of Northside Baptist Church, the Ruths Sunday School Class, the Missions Group, GA and Sunday School teacher. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels and the National Federation of the Blind of Maryland. Survivors include her children; Henry Vines, Jr. and wife Donna of Snow Camp, Loretta White and husband Joe of Pikesville, MD, Tony Vines, Sr. and wife Ellen of Burlington, Floyd Vines of Reidsville, fifteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Gladys Freeman, Nora Hensley, Pauline Brown, a brother Garland Brown and a grandson William Vines. The funeral will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bruce Brown. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home and at other times at her home.
