Florence Hudson

Florence Poythress Hudson, 88, of Maple Ave. went home to be with Jesus and is having a shouting time in heaven. Her death occurred at 1:20am September 5, 2015 at The Hospice Home. A native of Alamance County she was the wife of the late John Monroe Hudson and daughter of the late LeBaron Dekalb and Martha Adams Poythress. She was retired from Baker-Cammack Hosiery and was a charter member of Landmark Baptist Church. Survivors include her son, Ronald M. Hudson and wife Brenda of Burlington; step daughter, Judy Hudson of Burlington; step grandchildren, Brandi Qualls, Amanda Tuck and Matthew Tuck; step great grandchildren, Jaden Qualls, Reagan Qualls, Tyler Tuck and Connor Tuck; sister, Irene P. Qualls of Burlington; 2 brothers, Shelton Poythress and wife Sara of Burlington and Gene Poythress and wife Eve of Haw River. She was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Horner and brother Frank Poythress. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Mark Wilson and Rev. Rainey Qualls. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Mrs. Hudson will remain at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory through the funeral service. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 6-8pm Monday and at other times the home of the son, Ronald, 802 North Ave. Burlington, NC.
