Patricia Faye Maness Gaulden,84, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 17, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her family. A native of Guilford County, she was born June 10, 1939 to the late Bertha Mae Maness and was the wife of 66 years to James “J.W.” or “Jay” William Gaulden of the home.
Faye was a member of McLeansville Baptist Church for 62 years and a member of the Adult 3 Sunday School Class. She also worked as a nursery worker and a church clerk. For many years, she co-owned and operated Carolina Marble Manufacturing Company alongside her husband. She was an accomplished cook and baker and was especially known for her delicious chocolate cakes. Faye enjoyed television game shows like Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy and would often be found reading or solving her daily newspaper crossword puzzles in her spare time. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who cherished time with her family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Faye is survived by her husband, Jay; daughter, Judith Llanos; sons, Curtis Gaulden and wife Lanesa; Wes Gaulden and wife Penny; grandchildren, Aaron Llanos (Jennifer), Amber Llanos, Tyler Gaulden (Erica), Katie Pegram (Hunter), Savannah Burns, Cameron Burns, Korey Wrenn (Joseph) and Shelby Gaulden; great grandchildren, Ayden and Cayson Llanos, Ethan Smith, Mason and Ella Gaulden and Hurley, Tate and Gracie Pegram and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother; grandson, Nathaniel Llanos; twin sister, Kaye Midgett and a son-in-law, George Llanos.
A service to celebrate Faye’s life will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at McLeansville Baptist Church by Rev. Mike Barnett, Rev. Bud Parrish and Rev. Pat Simpson with the burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the son, Wes’ home at 6578 Bethel Church Rd. in Gibsonville.
