BURLINGTON Mrs. Evone Genell Woodell Williams, age 87, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Peak Resources of Alamance after three years of failing health. Born in Randolph County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Arthur Woodell and the late Alice Voncannon Woodell and was married to the late Rev. James Woodrow "J.W." Williams, who died in 2004. Evone retired from the textile industry after working at Cone Mills for over 25 years and then later at Glen Raven Mills for another 5 years. She was a member of Trinity Worship Center and was very involved and devoted to her church. Evone had a nickname of "Sweet Pea" Mrs. Williams is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Genell and Clyde Hicks of Kernersville; a son, Jack L. Williams of Danville, VA; grandchildren, Renee Gary Hughes, Cherie Calvin Arthur, Dwight Williams and James Amy McCaslin; step grandchildren, Ray Carrie Hicks and Laura Harrington; great grandchildren, Brandon Britany, Breann and Tina Lemons, Chance and Chase Arthur, Kara and Kimberly McCaslin; step great grandchildren, Tiffany, Justin, Daniel, Carlton, Sam, Hannah, Sarah and Thomas; step great great grandchildren, Adnyn, J.D., Trinity and Emma; sister, Esther Hicks of Greensboro; like a great grandchild Jordan Cobb, and special friends, just like her children, Chun Cha Edwards, Vicki and Beverly Franklin, Bobby and Janie Graves, Sarah and Bobby Williams and Craig Cooper; and too many family and friends to mention, that she adopted through the years as her own family. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; granddaughter-in-law, Karen McCaslin, six sisters and three brothers. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00am Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Trinity Worship Center by Rev. Darrell Cox, Rev. Charles Arnold, Rev. Bill Truesdale and Rev. Tom Barton. Interment will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. The family will receive friends from 6 -8pm Friday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Trinity Worship Center, 3157 S. Church St., Burlington, NC 27215. The Williams family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Michael Cooper with LeBauer HealthCare, the staff at Peak Resources and the staff at Golden Corral in Burlington for all the love and attention they showed Evone.
