Everette Faucette

Mr. Everette Walter Faucette, age 88, of 206 Markham St., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late James E. and Mary Boone Faucette and was married to Mrs. Dorothy Huff Faucette, who survives, and was formerly married to Mrs. Bessie Lee Faucette, who died in 1989. Everette was Army Air Corps veteran and served in WWII where he was in the 8th Aircorp, 392 Bomber Group, 578th Squadron and performed over 35 successful bombing missions over Germany in a B-24 Liberator, serving as the midships gunner. He retired from Burlington Industries with over 52 years of service and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Elon, where he served in the Men's Class. He was a member of the Western Flying Club from 1961-2001 as an official board member and maintenance officer. He supported the club in many successful business ventures. Today the club is 56 years old and the second oldest in the nation. He was also a member of the Aircraft Owners Pilots Association AOPA, the Experimental Aircraft Association EAA, and was a member of the Gold Wing Motorcycle Club from 1989-2007. Everette survived by his wife of the home; a daughter, Carolyn Hoyle and her husband, Brad, of Raleigh; a son, Robert Faucette and his wife, Kelly, of Burlington; two step daughters, Teresa Wade and Deborah Walker and her husband, Tim, all of Burlington; two step sons, Harold Huff and his wife, Melinda, of Check, VA and Ricky Huff and his wife, Melinda, of Burlington; a granddaughter, Katie Hoyle; eleven step grandchildren; and a brother, Ralph Faucette and his wife, Donnan, of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his first wife; parents; a sister, Alma Brown; and two brothers, Clifton Faucette and Luther Faucette. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Dace Lewis. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
