Everett Austin

Everett Milton Austin, 82, of 406 Trail two passed away Sunday, May 27, 2007 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Austin was born January 16, 1925 in Union, County to the Bertis Milton and Mary Perry Austin. He was married to late Frances Brincefield Austin who preceded him in 2001. He worked for Western Electric for 36 years until his retirement and was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and was a Navy W.W. II veteran that served in the Pacific Theater. Survivors include two daughters, Imelda A. Hunley and her husband Dan of Knoxville, Tenn. And Mary Jane Coble and her husband Ronnie of Danville, Va.; A son, William Bertis Bert Austin and his wife Dorcas of Mebane; six grandchildren; two-great grandchildren; and two brothers, Bryan Austin, of Albany, Ga. and Hamilton Austin of Palm Harbor, Fl. He was preceded in death by three sisters and one grandson. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2007 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Father Bob Benko, OFM Conv. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times the family will be at the residence.
